About Us

Club History

The Nittany Valley Figure Skating Club, formerly known as the Penn State Figure Skating Club, is a proud member of United States Figure Skating (USFSA). Since 1961, NVFSC has upheld a tradition of nurturing talented skaters of all ages. From members who have gone on to tour in esteemed ice shows, compete at Nationals, or become lifelong coaches, we continue to pursue excellence in our investment in the next generation of athletes in the sport.

Located in State College, PA, we skate at the Pegula Ice Arena on the campus of Penn State University. We welcome all figure skaters and friends of figure skating to join our community. Our mission is to encourage participation in the beautiful sport of figure skating.

Our Facilities

Pegula Ice Arena opened in 2013, after a historic donation from Terry and Kim Pegula. This state-of-the-art facility replaced the former Greenberg Ice Pavilion at Penn State and enabled the University to elevate its men’s and women’s hockey programs to NCAA Division I status. Beyond collegiate hockey, the arena serves as a community resource, hosting public skating sessions, learn to skate lessons, and other events.
