Fundraising

The NVFSC actively participates in various fundraising opportunities throughout the year to subsidize ice costs for our skaters. Thanks to the generosity of many volunteers and donors, over 25% of our annual ice bill is covered by our fundraising efforts. Club ice subscriptions and packages are deliberately kept at as low a rate as possible to enable more individuals to skate on as many ice sessions as possible. Our primary fundraising initiatives include operating concession stands for Penn State associated functions, organizing an annual Used Skate & Apparel Sale, participating in Centre Gives, and various raffles at our annual Happy Holidays Ice Show. We continuously seek innovative ideas to minimize expenses in this costly sport.

Concessions

NVFSC operates concession stands at multiple Penn State University venues throughout the year, including Beaver Stadium, Rec Hall, and Pegula Ice Arena. Currently, this initiative stands as our most successful fundraiser, contributing at least thirteen percent of the sales from each event to NVFSC.

We are constantly seeking volunteers to assist in running these concession stands during various sporting events. If you’re available to work at any event, regardless of the duration, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Volunteering Opportunties

We love our volunteers! NVFSC is constantly in need of ice monitors for club sessions. Anyone over 18 years old can be an Attendance Monitor for club ice after training. The attendance monitor will take attendance and help monitor club ice sessions. Training will take place during club ice, and you will receive volunteer credit for it. To sign up for training, please email skating@nittanyvalleyfsc.org. You can sign up to monitor club sessions under the volunteering section in acuity.

Abby Yeagley Memorial Scholarship
